I've just got word that the NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) commercail will be airing this week. From what I read, it was already aired last firday. I will be receiving more details of what other cities will be involved in the next few weeks.
Oh, I can not for get to mention that we also released the red carpet material video tonight. Yes, it's finally completed. At this time, I'm just waiting to hear back from the labels about when they will air it. The featured networks are VH1, MTV2 and Fuse. If you want to read a full detail of what my thoughts were on this production, please go to my vimeo page. Trust me, It's a interesting article.

Well, it's finally here. The official music video for Mr. Smilez feat. Lloyd titled, "Nite Life"; Directed by, Wuz Good and produced by me. A big thanks goes out to the co-producers Corday Cardwell and Eddie Forbes. The label (Dream House Records) has released it on OnSmash.com. OnSmash has featured it as a World Premiere video, which means that you can not miss it due to the fact that it's
right at the top of the page. I gave you a few choices on how you want to watch it. You can go to OnSmash's video section which is here, or you can watch it right here on this very page (which is still hosted by OnSmash). Scroll to the top and look for Mr. Smilez Feat. Lloyd - "Nite Life" [Official Music Video]. The video is right above this blog. Also, the video will be airing on BET and MTV sometime around late June. I'll keep you posted when I find out more.
A side from that, I'm still waiting to hear form NWA as to when they will be airing the commercial that we just released a week ago. They mention something about this Friday and that they will let me know in the next 48 hours with the exact details of where and when the commercial will be aired. Stay tune.
NWA presents themselves with a NEW stylize AD. ++
May 25th 2009
We just finished the NWA commercial a few days ago. Everyone on the other end were happy with the final product. So, now I can put something on my website. ha ha. As for the music video (Red Carpet Material), the label wants to wait until it's the right time to release it. Same goes with the Mr. Smilez Project (Dream House Records). All in all, it seems that everything that we have been working on will be publish sometime in the middle of June. Will see. In the mean time, go ahead and check out the official commercial for the NWA, featering 16 Second Stare; Here.
Two down, Two to go! ++
May 8th 2009
Well, after a solid month of hard work and late nights as a result of my growing priority list throughout April, I finished two music videos last week. I feel much better now, knowing that they're both completed and have already been sent off to their respective labels for approval. Once it's in their hands, they make the final call as to when they plan to release it. A few days after I submitted the 16 Second Stare video to the label (Mighty Loud/Universal Fontana), they expressed interest in a 30 second spot commercial for the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), which you can find more about here.
Not long ago, we shot a music video in Las Vegas. I just want to mention that everyone who worked on set that day did an amazing job. Some of our east coast crew flew to Vegas, and the rest were hired from west coast companies. Everyone, however, showed up with their game faces on. Having to hire an outside crew proved to be no problem as we tackled the two-day shoot with minor problems. I'm happy to say, now that the video is complete, it's just a matter of time before we get the go ahead to present it.
Presently I'm in post-production on a very stylized commercial using green screen footage taken from the music video. I knew from the start that I wanted this edit to be better than the music video. I did some research and called a few friends to see what I could dig up. I got a call back from
Alex Purifoy, Director
(Queens Club, Trina, Introduction to Sunshine), and he gave me a contact who specializes in Motion Graphics and Design. His name is
Cameron Calder, and after a recent internship with
Creative Capers, an Animation studio in California, he has spent time working around the clock with yours truly so that we may meet our deadline for this Sunday. This is going to be something different for me, but what we've put together so far is mind blowing.
But wait, there's more! If you don't remember, I had directed a pilot promo for Honky Tonk T.V. a little while back. Well, Chris James (CEO & Founder of Honky Tonk) has made a deal with the
Daily Buzz to air their show live for 3 minutes. Honky Tonk has been live for 3 weeks now, broadcast live Monday through Friday on National T.V. to 215 stations in 154 markets
(mainly the CW Network). Once we finish up the promo, the half hour show will be up and running in no time. The show is live at 7:45 AM Eastern time. If you want to check out past episodes, go to

Interview with Film Graduate, Justin Murray ++
April 1st 2009
With amount of work that I'm trying to wrap up, there is no time for anything else. What I did find time for is an interview with RG. RG is running a website that allows alumni and current students of Full Sail to post their own content. This is a outlite for other students or soon-to-be students to see what kind of work Full Sail students are putting together. You can check out the website here,http://www.fullsailnetwork.com. To read my interview, please go here.
Here's a snippet of the interview.
RG: You and your crew over at Lution Media are doing something different with music videos that not a lot of people are doing. Tell us about that.
Justin: Oh, you mean the teasers?
RG: Yeah! I’ve never seen or heard of anybody doing a teaser for a music video.
Justin: The way that came about was because I love movies and I love teasers. So when we shot the music video for TREAL, it had a lot of post production work that needed to be done to it. But I wanted to get something out there to show the fans and just hype it up. When we did 16 Second Stare, I really dove in and just made it really feel like a teaser and it took me two weeks to edit it. I’m picky with my work and I don’t like to do anything half-done. I have to think that something is awesome for me to release it. You have to care about your work.
Casting for Models/Crew in Vegas. ++
March 24th 2009
I'm finally back in Orlando, FL after being stuck in Vegas. Which is not a bad thing, but the Director and I had to get back in town so we can start pre-production. We flew out there last week to scout for locations. Will be shooting a music video in Las Vages, NV next month in April. The shoot dates for principal photography are the 7th an 8th. We are in the works of finding a film crew that is located in or near Nevada. Majority of the key (above) positions are filled. Using technology to appracoh a new work-flow. ++
March 10th 2009
It's been a little over a week now since the teaser has been released and it's good to see that people are enjoying it. The behind the scenes is currently being touched up and mastered, so they'll have it done by next week. Now as for the official video, we are still editing because of the heavy work flow. I decided to approach a whole new work flow with this project. With the budget being the size it was, I had a lot more play room to do something different with my post end of things.
So, I personally posted on every high end production website to seek for a professional post-house facility. After a few days past, I checked my email to see that I had over 40 plus messages. From there, I did a reviewing process that finally lead me to find a company that was able to tackle my idea. The company happens to be RGBtv Inc.
RGBtv is a post-house (Production) facility base out of Atlanta, Georgia. They've been working with A list clients from coast to coast for the last 20 years. RGBtv has worked with CBW, ABC Family, Mercedes Benz, The Red Cross, HGTV, TNTLA, Cartoon Network and the list goes on.
The gentleman that I have been in contact with is the Owner of RGBtv Inc. His name is Jonathan Sargent. Very nice guy. We been discussing the post end of this music video for the last 2 weeks. All of our conversations have been over the internet using Web-cam capabilities. If you find time, please go ahead and visit his companies website to take a look at their Reel.
This is a very new work flow for me and I'm excited to see how everything is going to come together. Basically what's going on is, I'm transferring the footage that needs to be keyed, composited and other miscellanies visual effects via ftp. From there I had to really figure out a way to present my idea the way I see it. Due to the fact that I can't meet them face to face, I had to do extra detail storyboards, frame by frame time code slices, dozen of spec photos that represent lighting, feel, shapes, and designs for every shot that I used in the rough-cut-timeline, and anything else that they might of requested. I'll keep everyone updated when I'm allowed to release more details.
Besides that,
Wuz Good had another photo shoot a couple of weeks ago. Majority of his photo shoots has a mini documentary of what's going on behind the scenes. The video is up and running on vimeo, which you can watch
here. It has a very clean look as well as the cinematography is very appealing.
Speaking of cinematography, a good friend of mine that has worked with me in the past has been getting exposure through out the city of New York. He's a still photographer as well as a cinematographer. You might know or heard of him, his name is
Khalid Mohtaseb. From what he told me, he has finished an event up in new york called Fashion Week. Well, he tooked behind the scene stills for this event which can be seen
here. Also, he has been mentioned in an article for BCBG Maxazria that speaks about his work. You can find it
here, but make sure to scroll to the bottom to read the last paragraph. Well done.
unleash the tease! ++
February 28th 2009
The teaser has been released. The teaser would of been posted a few days ago, but with the band traveling for 2 and half months; Everything is being done over the internet. Once the band had seen the teaser, they gave me the go ahead to release it the next day. So, If you want to get a sneak peak of my next video, feel free to click here.
As for the official music video, we will be editing it for another few weeks. This is my first project where I'm dealing with an "outside" post house facility in Altanta, Gerogia. I'll be sharing you the details of what's going on with this project, next week.
Red Carpet Tease. ++
February 16th 2009
Alright. So, it's been about a week since I shot the music video. We are in post-production as we speak. I'll be releasing a teaser sometime this week. As for the official music video, we would like to release it sometime early March. Like always, it seems that I have a massive challenge on all my shoots. This one happens to be a change in the story due to drama within the band. After the shoot, I sat down and started to write a new story line. While being locked in my room for a few days, I finally found a way to make everything work. Once the video is released, I think you’ll be very happy with the final product.
The band is named, 16 Second Stare which are signed to
Mighty Loud Records and
Universal Fontana. Universal Fontana is associated with
Universal Music Group. The song is titled
“Red Carpet Material”, and it happens to be number 36 on the top 40.
The behind the scenes is still being edited. I’m also aware that they have a few more interviews to do. So, we should be seeing the behind the scenes sometime late February. Talking with the producers and the label, they mentioned something about revealing the drama on set in the behind the scenes. Pretty much looking forward to see how they will cut that together.
While working on the teaser, I have dedicated some of my time to updating certain area's of the website. Mostly after any shoot, I’m pretty good at uploading the production stills asap. Well, I had a lot going on, so It took me about a week to get the red carpet material stills up and running; Check them out,
Red Carpet Material.
Other than that, Lution Media’s website is almost done. I Saw the lay-out few days ago and I was blown away. The website will be up for public view next week.
Blogging...Why Not?! ++
January 12th 2009
It seems like everyone is blogging these days. I know that blogging has been around for a while, but I never thought it would be this popular on the internet. Everyone that I have encountered with has a blog. So here I am wondering, "I should give it a shot." I just signed up at Blogger.com. Today, I published my first blog. If you want to read it, the link is http://www.murraymile.blogspot.com. I was thinking of using my blog mainly to share professional experiences that I've had on set, with crew, post-production, color correction, directing, producing, and etc.
Hunting for more in '09 ++
January 6th 2009
Welcome to the new year everyone. As for me, I know, It's been awhile. Working on a few projects that have kept me away from updating my website. I'll be tweaking a few things around the site. As of right now, you can see the concept imagery "Teaser" poster for my upcoming feature, FOX HUNT [working title]. We (Jeff Kallet and I) are in the stages of writing the third act of the screen play. Our goal is to have it completed by mid summer of this year. In the mean time, we'll be adding concept posters and Character posters through out the month. If everything works out as plan, we will be shooting late this year.
As some of you know, I have a project in post-production that I really can't discuss at this time. What I can tell you is, that the project will be finished at the end of this month. Speaking with the executives, they mention that we can release the project at the end of February. So at this point, my figures are tied. Once I get clearance, I'll post the
official project,
Production Stills, and a exclusive look of the
behind the scenes.
There is a lot going on this year. Lution Media and I are looking for signed or upcoming artists that may want a high end video. If you have any questions or want to find out more about our services, please fill free to email me,
murraymile@gmail.com. At the moment, Lution Media's website is still under construction. We'll have it up shortly.
Last but not least,
Ozone Magazine's December issue is in stores now. If you take a look at the front cover, you'll see DJ Khalid and Ace Hood on the front of it. Photo was taken by Wuz Good.
